Today Sereena Davey announced that she is standing down as Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Esher and Walton due to health reasons.
Sereena said:
"It is with deepest regret that due to personal health issues I have to stand down from my position as the Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Democrats in Esher and Walton and will be unable to fight the next general election.
"I fully support the work of the Liberal Democrats - and in particular Nick Clegg's leadership - to make Britain a stronger, fairer, and greener country and I will continue to campaign locally and nationally.
"I wish the new candidate all the best in building on the success of neighbouring Liberal Democrat MPs Vince Cable and Ed Davey."
